PBS Hawaii Presents

We thank you for your interest in submitting a film for consideration as a PBS Hawaii Presents program.

We at PBS Hawaii know that there is a talented, vibrant independent film community in Hawaii, and we want to help your projects find an audience.

We are looking for stories that reflect the unique experience of living in Hawaii and other Pacific Island communities. Your film can be a documentary, a drama, or a performance program, but it must tap into life in these island cultures.

It must also meet our high standards of clear, compelling storytelling; picture and sound quality; pacing and editing; and, if it is a non-fiction film, accuracy and journalistic integrity.

We can accommodate films that fill a one hour or half hour timeslot. The standard PBS length for an hour show is 56:46. For a half hour show it is 26:46. All funding sources must be credited in your show. Also, in order for a program to air on PBS Hawaii, the film's funding source and subject matter cannot be one in the same. In other words, if an organization funds a film about itself, that film cannot air on our station.

All rights (music, talent, location, intellectual property) must be cleared and backed up by releases. E&O (Errors and Omissions) for the film must also be obtained.

We will not return the screening DVD you send to us, so make sure it is a copy you can spare. Please be patient, as it may take us a while to get back to you. Again, thank you for interest. We look forward to seeing your film!

Aloha,
